Van Deventer returns to lead Central Hinds

Central Districts Hinds captain Anlo van Deventer will be back in action leading the team into Round Two of the NZC Women’s T20 Competition tomorrow afternoon, followed by Rounds Three and Four of the Hallyburton Johnstone Shield one-day competition in Hamilton over the weekend.

Van Deventer missed most of last weekend’s action after splitting the webbing in her hand early in Saturday’s opening round of the Hallyburton Johnstone Shield, requiring stitches as vice-captain Hannah Rowe stepped into the on-field leadership role, and captained the side in van Deventer’s stead on Sunday.

In the only other change to the Hinds squad from last weekend, Rebecca Burns comes in for Taranaki teenager Monique Rees. Rees has been released to play in the concurrent National Secondary Schools Finals (December 1-3).

The Hinds’ three consecutive away matches against Northern Spirit begin at 3.30pm tomorrow with the side looking to get on the board in the Women’s T20 at St Paul’s Collegiate.
