THE AIMEE WATKINS TROPHY

One of the newest trophies contested in the CD region, this is a short-format girls' secondary schools contest that brings together annual finalists from our eight Districts


This competition began in the 2022/23 season, and has rapidly expanded to include Nelson and Marlborough schools for the first time this summer!


2026 TOURNAMENT


The 2025/26 season Aimee Watkins Trophy will take place from Tuesday 24 to Thursday 26 March in Palmerston North



The format will be T20, with multiple games played across the three days, depending on final numbers


Entries are open to all schools within the CD region, including schools in Nelson and Marlborough from this season. Schools can enter either the Aimee Watkins Trophy or the CD Secondary School Girls' First XI Cup, but not both competitions in the same season

2025 TOURNAMENT


The 2024/25 summer's AIMEE WATKINS TROPHY competition was held at Palmerston North's Ongley Park on 25 and 26 March 2025


The final four schools were:


• FEILDING HIGH SCHOOL Manawatū

• PARAPARAUMU COLLEGE Horowhenua-Kāpiti

• WHANGANUI COLLEGIATE Whanganui

• NGA TAWA DIOCESAN SCHOOL Marton


Congratulations to PARAPARAUMU COLLEGE who locked up the trophy unbeaten, unable to be caught ahead of the last day!


2022/23

Inaugural season!

This competition began in the 2022/23 season with two teams from Wairarapa and two teams from Manawatū proceeding to the first Finals day.

The 2023 Aimee Watkins Trophy Finalists were:

2023/24


Six teams competed in The Aimee Watkins Trophy Finals, the competition expanded to include two sides from Whanganui in the second edition.

The Finals were played at Wallace and Ongley Parks, Palmerston North on 13 March 2024
