THE AIMEE WATKINS TROPHY

ABOUT THIS TROPHY


THE AIMEE WATKINS TROPHY is one of the newest trophies contested in the CD region. 

It's a short-format girls' secondary schools contest that brings together annual finalists from our North Island-based Districts. This competition began in the 2022/23 season.


2025 TOURNAMENT


The 2024/25 summer's AIMEE WATKINS TROPHY competition is at Palmerston North's Ongley Park on 25 and 26 March 2025

The final four schools are:


• FEILDING HIGH SCHOOL Manawatū

• PARAPARAUMU COLLEGE Horowhenua-Kāpiti

• WHANGANUI COLLEGIATE Whanganui

• NGA TAWA DIOCESAN SCHOOL Marton


Congratulations to PARAPARAUMU COLLEGE who locked up the trophy unbeaten, unable to be caught ahead of the Final day!



PREVIOUS SEASONS


2022/23 - Inaugural season

This competition began in the 2022/23 season with two teams from Wairarapa and two teams from Manawatū proceeding to the first Finals day.

The 2023 Aimee Watkins Trophy Finalists were:


FEILDING High School (inaugural winner, representing Manawatū)

KURANUI College (Wairarapa)

PALMERSTON NORTH Girls' High School (representing Manawatū)

SOLWAY College (Wairarapa)


2023/24


Six teams competed in The Aimee Watkins Trophy Finals, the competition expanded to include two sides from Whanganui in the second edition.

The Finals were played at Wallace and Ongley Parks, Palmerston North on 13 March 2024
