NZU19 TON FOR THOMAS ZOHRAB

A classy effort from Thomas Zohrab has seen the Nelson up-and-comer post his maiden New Zealand Under 19 century today at Bert Sutcliffe Oval.

The composed opening batsman came close to carrying his bat in the second one-dayer against Bangladesh Under 19, producing a solid knock of 112 off 124 balls to provide hosts New Zealand with a competitive total of 242 for six, after he batted into the 49th over.

Zohrab, an 18-year-old right-hander, represented Central Districts A last season and was named Central Districts Under 19 Player of the Year at our 2018/19 CDCA Awards.

Bangladesh had gone into the match with a 0-1 lead in the 5-match series with New Zealand looking to strike back in today’s rescheduled clash. However, Bangladesh are showing they are up to the challenge.
