The first home Burger King Super Smash at Pukekura Park is just 10 days away and the Central Stags are fizzed to continue an exciting start to summer!
The Stags head into the entertaining T20s after being unbeaten in their Plunket Shield campaign, after the first four rounds of our first-class championship defence.
Now it’s time to pack away the red balls for a month and get ready for the big hits and summer sunshine in New Plymouth and Napier over the summer holiday season coming up!
Burger King Super Smash Grand Finalists for both the past two summers, the Stags are pumped and excited to be back in Taradise from 29 December — starting with a massive game on that Saturday arvo against the Auckland Aces.
Expect to see plenty of star players on both sides, familiar names from the BLACKCAPS in a big clash starting at 4pm — but that’s just the second act!
The Central Hinds and Auckland Hearts — two of the top women’s teams this season, neck in neck at the top of the Hallyburton Johnstone Shield — are kicking off a mint afternoon on the terraces in this Burger King Super Smash doubleheader, the first back-to-back national T20s to be played in New Plymouth!
The Hinds game starts at 12.45pm and with coffee, ice cream, bevvies and food on site and the famous bouncy castle and heaps of fun activities for the kiddies, it’s a great way to spend an afternoon on the beautiful terraces in our beautiful treasure that is Pukekura Park.
That’s the first of our Burger King Super Smashes in the Naki, and we’ve got another big doubleheader for you on New Year’s Eve before the action moves to Napier in January.
Our traditional “New Year’s Eve Party” at Pukekura Park is always packed, so don’t wait and miss out — get your tickets now for the Dec 31 doubleheader featuring the Hinds v Blaze at 12.45pm (gates open at 11.45am) then the Stags taking on ARCH RIVALS the Wellington Firebirds at 4pm! With action winding up around 7pm, it’s the perfect way to warm up with mates and family ahead of NYE festivities!
Every ticket bought online wins an instant prize plus you can go in the draw for cool prizes like BBQs and a $4000 trip (wow) to the Grand Final …. hey, just in case it’s not at Pukekura Park again this season!!!
So. We really don’t like to mention this but the Firebirds produced a heck of a big game to lift the one-day Ford Trophy last month in Dunedin and we all know they are a really good team. You just know they are going to come to the party, but our strong Stags are also big entertainers and have all guns loaded ready to fire the sixes out of the park and put out their fire! What a match-up!
Burger King Super Smash is super family friendly entertainment with great pricing to look after our supporters. A family pass (2 Adults + 3 Kids) to a doubleheader is just 30 bucks or $15 for adults and just $5 for people aged 14 or under. Toddlers under 2 get in free to all games (you do have to come with them, however!).
The best value way to take in ALL the action is to score a PUKEKURA PARK PASS membership that gets you into both days, 28 & 31 December, for just $55 for a family or $25 for an adult. Great savings, smashing fun and the park is going to be chocker so why not sort it now.
Napier, you don’t miss out this summer — yay! With McLean Park all sorted out with a brand new state of the art playing surface, the scene is set for three big nights under lights in January.
These games aren’t doubleheaders so it’s the Central Stags front and centre in televised T20s starting at 7.10pm on Thursday 10 January, Saturday 19 January and Friday 25 January in the new year.
The first game is against Ford Trophy finalists the Otago Volts — with Hamish Rutherford likely to be opening up, always a good contest. Then it’s the Canterbury Kings on the 19th and as we all know, Stags love beating the Cantabs.
Finally (see what we did there) it’s the Knights in a big, big rematch of last year’s Burger King Super Smash Grand Final that we’re still not talking about. Hey, can’t win ‘em all — but actually we can, and we’re going to try this summer so get around the lads for this top clash against an exciting team that likes to wear bright pink. They should have a few BLACKCAPS in their midst, but we will too!
Our Bay supporters can also save big on ticket prices this summer with a McLEAN PARK PASS that gets you into all three Burger King Super Smashes and also gets you into the three One-Day Internationals in Napier this summer — so six games in all for just $119, that is amazing value!
If you want to take it game by game, buy online here so you can still score an instant prize and go in the big weekly and grand prize draw to console yourself on missing out on that fantastic membership deal.
Wherever you are in CD land, buckle up for fantastic holiday season with us. The Central Stags, Central Hinds and all our team at CDCA wish you a wonderful, happy Christmas and holidays this summer. Spot you up on the bank/terraces very soon!
