Central Districts Cricket Association Life Member and former CEO Blair Furlong has been recognised in the 2016 Queen’s Birthday Honours List, receiving a Queen’s Service Medal for services to cricket and rugby.
Blair has had a long association with cricket in Central Districts and retired as the Association’s Chief Executive Officer in 2010 after 20 years in that role. Blair played for Central Districts from 1963 to 1972, and represented New Zealand at Under 23 level in 1965, taking a hat-trick in his only appearance for that side.
