CLAUDIA GREEN SWINGS BACK IN FOR HINDS

Two big games against the Canterbury Magicians are in store for the CENTRAL HINDS and our Taranaki cricket fans this weekend at Pukekura Park.

The fifth (Saturday) and sixth (Sunday) rounds of the national one-day Hallyburton Johnstone Shield represent the halfway mark of the competition with the Hinds needing to bounce back from a double blow against the Auckland Hearts a fortnight ago in Palmy.

The Hinds are in fourth spot on the ladder, 15 points behind runaway leader the Otago Sparks who have taken the perfect 20 points in their title defence so far.

The Magicians are also urgently seeking wins at Pukekura Park, heading into the FREE ADMISSION weekend of action equal with the Hinds on five points, but ranked behind on net run rate.

The headline news for the Hinds is that experienced swing bowler CLAUDIA GREEN is back after completing a concussion protocol and fired up for a chance to take her 50th List A wicket at the New Plymouth ground - requiring just two more victims for the milestone.

The Hinds selectors have named a squad of 13 to cover the weekend, fellow Nelson Nyxons pace bowler ANNA GAGING making way for Green while ASHTUTI KUMAR continues to sit out the one-dayers as she makes her way back from knee surgery.

For the Magicians, the weekend will meanwhile be a Taranaki homecoming for ex-Central Hind KATE EBRAHIM.

Both matches at Pukekura Park begin at 10.30am this Saturday and Sunday, with a free livestream here at www.cdcricket.co.nz as well as free admission both days.
