One of the best trends in cricket in recent times has been the rapid growth of options for older or 'veteran' cricketers looking to play and stay involved with their peers in the game - including regional and national tournments, New Zealand Over 40s, 50s and 60s teams and the development of World Cups in spectacular places around the globe!
At the Over 50s men's level, currently there are two teams representing the combined Central Districts and Northern Districts regions.
These teams are called the DISTRICTS EVERGREENS (competing as Districts Evergreens A and Districts Evergreens B) and, if you're nearing 50, or over 50 and keen to get involved, now's the perfect time to register an expression of interest in being involved in their next events!
The Districts Evergreens committee is keen to hear from players interested in trialling for their teams for the 2023/24 NZ Over 50s Inter-Provincial Tournament, to be held in beautiful Queenstown in mid-January 2024.
The Evergreens' build-up is planned as follows - please note that the locations and times will be confirmed in due course:
The Over 50s movement has grown quickly already in Taranaki and the committee is now particularly keen to call out to players in our other CD District regions to come and join the fun.
