Emerging CENTRAL STAGS WILL CLARK and CURTIS HEAPHY have been been named in the men's New Zealand Development squad that will next week conduct a short, internal series against Domestic A sides again this season.
Formed to build a bridge to high performance cricket for the New Zealand men's Under 19 players who missed out on a trip to the two-yearly ICC U19 World Cup due to the pandemic, the team bursts back into life this Monday, 21 November 2022 with a two-day match against Otago A at NZC's base in Lincoln, Canterbury.
That's followed by a one-dayer against Canterbury A in Lincoln on Thursday, and a T20 on Friday against the same opponent - with all three matches live-scored at www.nzc.nz and on the NZC app.
A New Zealand Development squad played an extensive nationwide series of nine matches last season across January and February 2022, against Domestic A sides including CENTRAL DISTRICTS A.
Clark played for the CD A side on that occasion against CD U19 Player for the Year Heaphy in the Development team in Match 3, a three-dayer at Nelson Park. Heaphy went on to debut for the Stags this season in Nelson, the pair both having debuted in the first-class format for the team.
