COUNTY STINT FOR WILL YOUNG

It's been a week to remember for Central Stag WILL YOUNG.

On Saturday, the 28-year-old from Taranaki became the 200th BLACKCAP to make his ODI debut - and hit the winning boundary with a cameo at the end of the match, his maiden ODI against Bangladesh in Dunedin coming in the same summer as his long awaited Test debut.

Now Young has signed his first County contract for the off-season in England, with Durham picking him up for a three-match stint as a short-term replacement for Durham's Australian overseas professional, Cameron Bancroft.

Durham is coached by former BLACKCAP James Frankin, with Young in the frame to play his first County Championship four-dayer as early as April 15.

The first-class stint will be ideal preparation for the BLACKCAPS' two-Test Series in England in June, followed by the ICC World Test Championship Final against India on 18 June 2021.

The BLACKCAPS will be visiting McLean Park one week from today to play the first T20 International doubleheader at the venue, with the WHITE FERNS against world champions Australia at 3PM followed by the BLACKCAPS v Bangladesh under lights. One ticket buys you entry to both T20is.

The BLACKCAPS T20i squad will be announced today during the second ODI in Christchurch.
