Central Hinds bowler CLAUDIA GREEN has stunned England with a five-wicket bag during her first-time call-up to a national team.
First change Green was included in the New Zealand XI to play two warm-up one-dayers in Queenstown this week against the England side getting ready to play the WHITE FERNS - and yesterday ripped through to take 5-48 from 8.4 overs.
It was part of a dominant New Zealand XI display that began with CENTRAL HINDS teammate NATALIE DODD anchoring the innings with a silky 91, top-scoring in a 108-run victory in the second warm-up fixture.
The home side was superior with bat and ball, posting 316/5 before bowling out England for 209 in the 39th over.

Dodd played with her trademark poise, finding the boundary eight times while showing urgency between the wickets throughout her innings.
She underpinned a strong opening stand with fellow WHITE FERN Hayley Jensen who exhibited her power and strength with a quickfire 47 off 52 balls.
The innings shifted gears with the introduction of new WHITE FERN Brooke Halliday, the Northern Spirit captain smashing three sixes and eight fours in a 56-ball knock of 79 off 56 - one six ending up on the roof of the Queenstown Events Centre.
Despite a fast start from the English opening pair going after a big total, the bowlers didn’t disappoint when it was their turn.
Tammy Beaumont and Danni Wyatt put on 64 runs in eight overs before Green took over, her prodigious in-swing accounting for three of the top four England batsmen.
She swung a delivery back half a metre to collect Wyatt's middle stump.
She bowled with great control, returning to take the 10th wicket and claimed 5-56 from 10 overs before the England side gave a couple of their players a second innings, as is the norm in warm-up fixtures, while Dodd took over wicketkeeping duties.

HANNAH ROWE had meanwhile opened the attack with Bree Illiing and returned a tidy 1-25 off her six overs. Rowe and Green had also been in the wickets after opening the attack in tandem in the first warm-up fixture two days earlier, finishing with 1-45 off 10 and 2-31 off six respectively.
The WHITE FERNS meet England in the first of their three ODIs on February 23 at Hagley Oval. The team will also be in action in Napier later next month in a McLean Park T20i doubleheader against world champions Australia, with the BLACKCAPS playing Bangladesh tickets
Our top of the table CENTRAL HINDS will meanwhile be back in action this weekend with twin rounds of the Hallyburton Johnstone Shield in Rangiora this Saturday and Sunday, a top of the table clash with new Dream11 Super Smash champions the Canterbury Magicians. The Hinds squad will be named this Friday.
