Central Districts Cricket Association (CDCA) is a forward-thinking and innovative organisation responsible for delivering cricket in the Hawke's Bay, Horowhenua-Kāpiti, Manawatū, Marlborough, Nelson, Taranaki, Wairarapa and Whanganui regions


CDCA is an incorporated society governed by a board of seven volunteer directors who are elected for a three-year term at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), following recommendation by a Board Appointments Panel. We are now seeking to fill two BOARD OF DIRECTORS positions, one of which was vacated post the 2023 AGM and the other replacing a retiring Board member having reached their full term


Ideal Applicant

Applications are open to candidates who can demonstrate a mix of strengths across the key skills and competencies, outlined in a framework approved by the organisation's membership

This framework aims to deliver outstanding governance leadership, and includes an ability to engage in original thinking that will drive the sport forward across the region

Candidates with a connection to the region that CD Cricket represents are preferred. In addition, Directors may also possess specific strengths in a range of areas including:

  • Finance
  • Marketing/communications
  • High performance sport
  • Community sport
  • Organisational development
  • - amongst other experiences and skill sets

Directors must be prepared to undergo regular governance reviews and be willing to develop their personal governance capabilities by completing programmes such as Governance 101 for Cricket through Sport NZ

The Board Appointments Panel will evaluate all applications, and conduct interviews with shortlisted candidates during the week commencing 30 September 2024 (Interviews will take place via Zoom)

Candidates who are recommended by the Appointments Panel will be presented to the AGM on 3 November 2024 for approval
